 Craig Carothers

Catch Craig as part of his first "school's out for summer" tour of the Northwest.  You'll have several opportunities, none quite as good however as hearing/seeing him up close in our living room.

He’s always been a little ahead of the curve and an old school kind of cool. His music is heartbreakingly beautiful and scathingly funny, delivered with a lively deadpan smile and a voice that’s downright swoony. Too folk for rock, too pop for folk, too jazz for country, too tall to be a jockey, it's difficult to easily categorize his music without the use of hyphens. 

He’s a songwriter’s songwriter, sharing co-writes with Bruce Hornsby, Don Schlitz, Maia Sharp, and Marty Stewart, to name a few. He’s had songs recorded by Trisha Yearwood, Kathy Mattea, Lorrie Morgan, Russell Hitchcock, Peter, Paul and Mary, and numerous European artists whose names are unspellable.

 As an adjunct professor, Craig shares his songwriting expertise at the University of Miami and through online and in-person songwriting workshops across the U.S. and Europe.

 He is also a producer, recording engineer, background singer, booking agent, graphic designer, photographer, Tex-Mex connoisseur, left-wing inactivist, and a collector of exquisitely obsolete gadgets. A true Renaissance man.

A former Nashville Music Row staff songwriter and a winner of the Kerrville, TX Folk Festival songwriting competition, Nygaard has learned her craft well.  Her latest CD “Let The Storm Roll In” rose to the coveted #1 position on the Roots Country Chart and #8 on the Folk DJ Chart - with every one of her self-penned compositions receiving airplay. The album received glowing reviews from the press that included five stars from Americana benchmark “Maverick” magazine. The legendary Folk music magazine “Sing Out” claimed her songs “rival the likes of Guy Clark or Ian Tyson in their plainspoken, memoir-like quality, rich with personalized images and a resonant point-of-view.”

Jon Dee Graham

Jon Dee Graham is a native Texan with a deep, eclectic musical history.  He was voted Musician of the Year at the Austin Music Awards in 2006 and inducted into the Austin Music Hall of Fame three times: as a solo artist in 2000, in 2008 as a member of the Skunks and again in 2009 with band mate Alejandro Escovedo as a member of the True Believers - widely considered to be seminal figures in the fusion of literary songwriting and punk rock.  Despite the ofen heaviness of his themes, Graham's music is infused with a strong sense of the joys of life and the need to remain optimistic.

Bob Livingston

 Singer-songwriter Bob Livingston has never been a traditional Texas country musician living the honky-tonk life, even though he's spent more than his share of time on the roadhouse circuit with some of the most colorful music legends in Texas. 

Hailing originally from Lubbock, his interests were more 'Cosmic' than 'Cowboy' and have prompted him to delve into the music and mysteries of many cultures. Traveling since the 80’s as a Music Ambassador for the US State Department, Livingston has taken Texas music as far afield as India, Africa, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, demonstrating again and again the unique power that music has to build bridges between peoples of the world.

Craig Carothers is a singer/songwriter from Portland, OR, now making his home in Nashville. He‘s recorded and released ten albums in the last twenty years. A couple of ‘em aren’t bad. His songs have been recorded by Trisha Yearwood, Kathy Mattea, and Peter, Paul, and Mary, just to name just a few. Half of the year he’s on tour, and the other half he spends in Nashville writing, producing, designing album covers, and goofing off. Sadly, he is not the founder of “Craig’s List.”
